What is Dri-Prime®?
Godwin Dri-Prime® trash and high head centrifugal pumps feature a fully automatic priming system incorporating a heavy-duty air compressor, air ejector assembly and an air/water separation tank. Priming system creates 25 inches of mercury vacuum draw, enabling pumps to prime from 28-foot dry static suction lifts, through extremely long suction hoses of several hundred feet and with automatic repriming on demand - unattended.
No floats, no footvalve and no standing water required in pump to achieve a prime. Ability to pump large flows from small manholes eliminates many submersible limitations. Pumpage flows directly into the eye of the impeller. Pump castings are available in cast iron and 316 stainless steel. Mechanical seal is cooled and lubricated by a unique designed oil bath reservoir, located away from harmful effects of the flow.

No periodic maintenance or adjustment is required. The mechanical seal is self-adjusting with silicon carbide interfaces. All metal parts are stainless steel and elastomers are Viton. Pumps are capable of continuous run-dry operation. The standard pump impeller is a three-bladed, open design in a durable, hardened cast chromium steel construction.
The wearplates are fully adjustable and replaceable 40 Rockwell C chromium iron and clearances have no relationship to the ability of pump to prime. Pump is fitted with a bearing bracket, which contains the shaft and heavy-duty ball or tapered roller bearings. ISO L10 bearing life is rated at 100,000 hours.
Pumps are supplied with choice of diesel engine or electric motor drive and mounted on a highway trailer or skid base. Bauer® Q-D piping and hose
couplings permit joint articulation up to 30 degrees and assure a vacuum-tight seal.
Temporary and permanent pump applications include pulp mill effluent flows, municipal sewage and pump station bypass, mine dewatering, recycling, major flood control, emergency spills response, hydrocarbon and corrosive transfers, plant fire water service, cooling and major process water supply. Engineering design assistance and on-site technical supervision is available. Models from 2 to 12 inch, flows to 5,500 usgpm, systems to 150 mgd, solids handling to 3.5 inches and heads to 500 feet tdh.
Dri-Prime pumps, hose, Q-D piping and major systems are available for rental or purchase from stock from the 2000-plus Godwin Pump rental fleet, and can be mobilized anywhere, anytime, with first class service commitment to getting the job done right.
